With 5-second accuracy, the Sokkia DT540 Digital Theodolite provides precise angle measurements for construction and layout applications. This optical instrument ensures that the target is accurately measured with its built-in absolute encoder, automatic axis compensation, 30X magnification and 2.5-inch resolving power for crystal clear images of points.
Dual-Axis Compensator
The DT540 digital theodolite automatically compensates both vertical and horizontal angles by monitoring the tilt of the instrument in two directions.
Enhanced Reliability
With the integrated absolute encoder, surveyors can start taking measurements as soon as the power is turned on. Absolute encoder’s new algorithm remarkably reduces power consumption by restoring the azimuth after the instrument is turned off or restarted.
Different Display Modes
Select the angle display unit that best suits you. Horizontal angle is switchable between clockwise and counterclockwise, angle hold and zero-set functions are also provided.
Audio Notification for Right-Angle
Once the zero horizontal angle direction is determined, the DT540 survey instrument emits audible tones for each of the four right-angle directions. Specifically, it sounds two different tones within ±15 degrees of 90 degrees and stops beeping when it comes within ±1 degree.
Easy to Use Control Panel
For added convenience, this Sokkia theodolite features a simple 4-key operation, dual and an integrated reticle illuminator that provides clear angle readings and allows construction professionals to work under all lighting conditions. Field data can also be transferred to external devices via the RS-232C serial port.
Rugged with Long Battery Life
The Sokkia DT540 withstands the harshest jobsite environment with its IP-66 rating for dust and water protection. Powered by four standard AA alkaline batteries, this survey tool operates up to 140 hours and works for two to five weeks without changing batteries depending on usage.
This Sokkia theodolite package comes with a hard carrying case, lens cap, plumb bob, tool pouch, vinyl cover, cleaning cloth, batteries and 1-year manufacturer’s warranty.
